Institution: Retired scientific director of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Professor for Environment and Sociology of Technology at the University of Stuttgart, previous academic positions in Germany, the US, and Switzerland.

Special achievements: Study of economics, sociology, and social psychology, awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, honorary doctorate from ETH Zurich, honorary professorship at the Technical University of Munich

Expertise in Delphi procedures: Development of the basic structure of the Group Delphi, a discursive variant of the Classic Delphi technique, together with a team of academics from the US and Germany
